Camera technology is everywhere. You can’t walk down the street without being surrounded by hundreds of cameras loaded into mobile phones, tablets, laptops, even actual cameras which do nothing else but take pictures. I suspect mobile phone cameras were so popular that manufacturers decided to make a device which does nothing else. Talk about a dedicated platform!
There’s even remote monitoring technology built into MrCool ductless mini-split heat pumps. I wanted them in there to remotely spy on my many enemies who enjoy reliable air comfort. My lawyers informed me that was highly illegal, so we couldn’t actually ever do it.
What the monitoring technology in a MrCool unit actually does, I am told, is allow the user to more effectively control their system. From my point of view, not as good as covert electronic observation, but better for the consumer I guess.
My engineers call it the Intelligent Eye feature. It’s a built-in infrared sensor that detects human movement. If you leave the room where MrCool is operating for 30 minutes, the unit automatically deactivates to save energy. It starts up again when you return. Neat!
What the Intelligent Eye feature definitely does not do is track your movements and habits, transmit that information back to the MrCool Secret Information Gathering Center where it’s used in your personal profile stored on the MrCool Customer Information Cloud.
Definitely not, since I was informed that that too is illegal.
