You probably already know you can find a great deal on a new air conditioner online. Did you know it’s stupidly easy to find HVAC rebates and incentives to let you save even more? It’s true!

There’s no simple trick or loophole. All you have to do to qualify for even more savings is register with the utility and/or government agency doing the offering. Finding those programs can be the hard part.

The Easiest Way to Find HVAC Rebates on Earth

What do you desire? Is it more money, a better job, a spouse that will actually wash a dish once or twice in their life? I have no idea how to help you with those, but I can help you with HVAC rebates. That’s one ‘desire’ I can meet.

Let me introduce you to DSIRE.

DSIRE is dsireusa.org, the “database of state incentives for renewables & efficiency.” Basically, it’s a list of every single local utility, municipal, state, and federal energy efficiency rebate and incentive program in the United States. If you are trying to find HVAC rebates to save some money, DSIRE is the #1 site you should visit.

And It’s Easy to Use

Don’t worry about DSIRE being confusing. If you know what state you live in, you can use it. Go to the DSIRE website, enter your zip code, and it automatically shows you everything available to you.

This is where things can get wonky. You probably don’t realize just how many incentive programs are out there. What you’re going to want to do is use the ‘Apply Filter’ button to clarify what you’re searching for. You can filter by technology, date, categories, program type, and more.

I recommend you click on Apply Filter, then Technology, then Energy Efficiency, then HVAC, and then the specific HVAC technology you are trying to find HVAC rebates for. If you’re looking for an air conditioner rebate, click air conditioner. If it’s a chiller, click chiller. I’m sure you get the idea.

Find the program that seems best for you, follow the application guidelines, and then, most likely, wait. A lot of these are government incentives, and our esteemed representatives have never been known for their haste.

And that, in short, is the very best way to find HVAC rebates, incentives, and even financing.

You’re welcome, America.
